Application was moved because of 'miscommunication' between him, accused, says Aftab's lawyer

New Delhi, December 22: Key accused in the Shraddha Walker murder case, Aftab Poonawala, on Thursday withdrew his bail application. He had killed his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar and chopped her body into pieces.

Aftab appeared before the court through video-conferencing. He informed the court that he wished to withdraw the bail application filed on December 15. His advocate, MS Khan, told the court that the bail application was moved because of "miscommunication" between him and the accused.

"Bail petition dismissed as withdrawn and not pressed," Additional Sessions Judge Vrinda Kumari was quoted as saying.


Notably, Aftab had earlier told the court that he would decide after talking to his lawyer whether he wants to pursue the bail or not.

Additional Sessions Judge Vrinda Kumari had listed the bail matter for hearing on December 22 (Thursday).

Aftab had told the court that he had no communication with his counsel in this regard. He would decide on the issue after talking to the counsel. MS then Khan submitted before the court that he would meet Aftab at the earliest.
