Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah summoned for questioning in Muda scam on November 6
Both Siddaramaiah and his wife Parvathi, along with his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy and Devaraju, from whom Swamy purchased a plot later gifted to Parvathi, are named in the FIR
PTC News Desk: Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah has been summoned by the Lokayukta police questioning in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment case.
“Yes, Mysore Lokayukta has issued a notice regarding MUDA. I will go to Mysore Lokayukta on 6th November,” said Siddaramaiah who has been ordered to appear before Lokayukta for questioning on November 6.
Both Siddaramaiah and his wife Parvathi, along with his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy and Devaraju, from whom Swamy purchased a plot later gifted to Parvathi, are named in the FIR registered by the Mysuru Lokayukta police on September 27.
The case was initiated following a directive from the special court in Bengaluru, instructing the Lokayukta to investigate Siddaramaiah for alleged irregularities in the allocation of 14 sites valued at Rs 56 crore to his wife, Parvathi, by MUDA. Previously, the Karnataka High Court confirmed Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's approval to investigate Siddaramaiah in relation to the MUDA matter.
It is claimed that 14 compensatory plots were allocated to Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi, in a high-value area of Mysuru (specifically in the Vijayanagar Layout's third and fourth stages), which is worth more than the location of her land that was "acquired" by MUDA. Under the contentious plan, MUDA granted 50 percent of the developed land to those who lost their land in exchange for the undeveloped land taken from them to create residential areas. It is claimed that Parvathi did not have legal ownership of the 3.16 acres of land at survey number 464 in Kasare village, Kasaba Hobli, Mysuru taluk.
