J&K encounter : Two soldiers martyred, six terrorists shot dead in twin encounters in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Saturday
The encounters occurred in Kulgam's Modergam and Chinigam villages. Out of the six terrorists, two were killed in Madargam and the remaining four in Chingam.
The confrontation began after the CRPF, Army, and local police initiated a joint operation based on intelligence reports indicating terrorist presence in Modergam village.
Another gun battle erupted in Frisal Chinnigam village when security forces acted on intelligence suggesting the presence of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists.
During both operations,two soldiers tragically lost their lives.
Upon arrival at the village, terrorists inside a house opened fire on the security forces, leading to a prolonged exchange of gunfire at multiple locations.
The region has recently experienced a surge in terrorist activities, with multiple encounters occurring across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Last month, security forces successfully neutralised three terrorists in the Gandoh area of Doda district.
