Jaipur-Ajmer Highway fire tragedy: A devastating fire claimed the lives of nine persons and left 41 others with burn injuries following a collision involving a chemical-laden truck, an LPG tanker, and several other vehicles near a fuel pump on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway. The accident occurred in the Bhankrota area, where the fire rapidly spread to the nearby fuel station, engulfing multiple vehicles parked there.
Emergency responders deployed 20 fire tenders to control the massive blaze. The injured were rushed to Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital. Eyewitness visuals captured towering flames engulfing the area as fire personnel worked tirelessly to extinguish the inferno.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited SMS Hospital to oversee the medical care of the injured and ensure adequate resources for their recovery. In a heartfelt post on X, he expressed his sorrow over the tragic incident:
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the gas tanker fire on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway. Upon receiving the news, I immediately visited SMS Hospital and instructed medical staff to provide the best possible treatment. Rescue and relief operations are ongoing with full readiness. I pray for the souls of the departed, strength for the bereaved families, and the swift recovery of the injured.”
Jaipur District Magistrate Jitendra Soni confirmed that 41 persons injuries and were hospitalised. He added that around 40 vehicles were damaged in the fire caused by a series of collisions. While the flames were mostly contained, efforts continued to fully extinguish the fire and ensure the area’s safety.
