International Day of Yoga 2023: India's unity in motion as leaders and citizens embrace the practice
Ministers and BJP leaders nationwide unite for the 9th International Yoga Day, practicing yoga to celebrate.
International Day of Yoga 2023: On the 9th International Yoga Day, various ministers and leaders from the BJP participated in yoga sessions across the country to commemorate the occasion. President Droupadi Murmu performed yoga at Rashtrapati Bhavan, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on a state visit to the US, will lead a yoga session at the United Nations Headquarters alongside UN leadership.
In a video message, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the Indian tradition of embracing new ideas while preserving diversity. He emphasized that yoga strengthens our sense of unity and connects us with a consciousness that fosters love for all living beings.
Vice President Jagadeep Dhankhar joined Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in performing yoga in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh participated in a yoga session with Indian Navy personnel aboard the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant in Kochi, engaging with the participants.
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya marked International Yoga Day at AIIMS Delhi, and Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari joined a large gathering in Nagpur, Maharashtra, to celebrate the occasion. BJP National President JP Nadda led a yoga session at a stadium in Gurugram, while Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami performed yoga in Haridwar.
The theme for International Yoga Day 2023 is "Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or "Yoga for the Welfare of All as One World-One Family." This theme highlights the essence of yoga in promoting global unity and well-being.
The celebration of International Yoga Day witnessed leaders and citizens coming together to embrace this ancient practice, emphasizing its profound impact on physical and mental well-being.
