PTC Web Desk: India demonstrated its advanced railway technology on Saturday with the first trial run of the Vande Bharat train, spanning from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station to Srinagar station via the Chenab Bridge, the world's tallest railway bridge.

The train's route also includes the Anji Khad Bridge, India's first cable-stayed railway bridge. Designed for the cold climatic conditions of the Valley, the train is equipped to operate in temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius. It features advanced heating systems to prevent water from freezing and bio-toilet tanks for passenger comfort.

A notable accomplishment under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make In India' initiative, the Vande Bharat trains have garnered international interest, with several nations expressing their willingness to procure these semi-high-speed trains, as highlighted by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Celebrated as a 'Make In India' success, the Vande Bharat trains come with enhanced safety features like Kavach technology, modern amenities, accessible toilets for persons with disabilities, and integrated Braille signage for an inclusive travel experience.
