Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday stated that the Indian Railways is working with state governments, director generals of police, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to identify those trying to derail train operations by placing objects on the tracks.
PTC News Desk: Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday stated that the Indian Railways is working with state governments, director generals of police, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to identify those trying to derail train operations by placing objects on the tracks.
"The entire railway administration is on alert and takes this problem very seriously. We are in constant contact with all state governments. State DGPs, Home Secretaries, and the NIA are all involved... Anyone trying to cause an accident will face severe consequences. The entire railway administration is working with great alertness," Vaishnaw said.
Vaishnaw stated that his ministry is working with all zones and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) to resolve the issue.
"We will take strict action against everyone involved in such unlawful acts. The administration is working hard to ensure that such incidents don't happen again and that we can find the criminals," he said.
However, the minister did not clarify the NIA's role.
The development follows several instances in which locomotive pilots found risky substances on railway tracks with the aim of derailing the train or risking the lives of passengers.
