PTC Web Desk: In a tragic turn of events during the silver jubilee celebrations of the US-based software firm Vistex at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, CEO Sanjay Shah lost his life in a freak accident. The incident occurred when Sanjay Shah, accompanied by Raju Datla, the president of the firm, entered an iron cage intended to be lowered from a height as part of the planned celebrations on Thursday evening. Unfortunately, one side of the iron chain supporting the iron cage broke, causing both individuals to fall more than 15 feet onto the concrete dais.
The company had organised accommodations for its staff at Ramoji Film City and planned a two-day celebration for its silver jubilee. The descent of Shah and Raju from the iron cage onto the dais was a planned event to kickstart the festivities, according to a company official. However, the celebration took a tragic turn when one of the wires attached to the cage snapped, resulting in multiple injuries.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, Sanjay Shah succumbed to his injuries during treatment, while his colleague Raju Datla is in serious condition. A case has been registered against the Film City event management authorities based on a complaint from another company official.
