Hyderabad shocker: Ex-Army man kills wife, boils body parts in pressure cooker

The case came to light when Madhavi's parents, suspecting foul play, filed a missing person report on January 18 at the Meerpet police station

PTC Web Desk: In a gruesome crime that has come to light from Hyderabad, a former Army personnel, Gurumurthy, allegedly murdered his wife, Venkat Madhavi, dismembered her body, and attempted to destroy evidence by boiling body parts in a pressure cooker before discarding them in a lake.

The case came to light when Madhavi's parents, suspecting foul play, filed a missing person report on January 18 at the Meerpet police station. Gurumurthy initially accompanied his in-laws to the station, pretending ignorance about her disappearance. However, during the investigation, chilling details emerged, implicating him in the crime.

The police suspect that Gurumurthy, who worked as a security guard in Kanchanbagh, killed Madhavi in a fit of rage following a disagreement. Reports suggest that the couple had an argument after Madhavi expressed her desire to visit her native place in Nandyal.

The couple, residents of Jillelaguda, Hyderabad, lived with their two children. According to police sources, Gurumurthy admitted to dismembering Madhavi’s body, packing the remains in a gunny bag, and discarding it in Chandan Lake near Jillelaguda. Despite his confession, the body is yet to be recovered, and the investigation is ongoing.
