Himachal weather update: After braving extreme weather conditions in Himachal Pradesh, residents are in for some relief. The Shimla meteorological centre has issued a yellow alert  for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at speed of 30-40 kmph at isolated places in Himachal over the next three days.

The local meteorological center in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla on Thursday issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at speed of 30-40 kmph at isolated places in the state over the next three days. On Thursday also, mid and higher hills of Himachal Pradesh reported light rain. The maximum temperatures have dropped by one to two degrees Celsius at some places.


As per data received from the weather office, Manali recorded 10 mm of rainfall, Keylong (5 mm), Kalpa (3 mm), Shimla (2 mm) and Bhuntar and Sainj recorded 1 mm of rain each. The minimum night temperatures remain same. Himachal's  Paonta Sahib and Neri recording the lows of 35 degrees Celsius and 32.3 degrees Celsius, respectively.


Heatwave to continue in Chandigarh, Haryana

There is no much relief from heatwave in parts of Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. Heatwave is also  likely to continue in many parts of Punjab and a few parts of West Uttar Pradesh, isolated pockets of Himachal, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand till May 31.
