'He is overwhelmed, had tears in his eyes': LK Advani's family after Bharat Ratna announcement
PTC News Desk: After Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that BJP veteran leader LK Advani would receive the prestigious Bharat Ratna award, Advani's family expressed joy and thanked Modi for bestowing the country's highest honour on him.
Pratibha Advani, LK Advani's daughter, was seen sitting with her father at his Delhi residence, congratulating him and offering him a laddu.

"The entire family is very happy that 'Dada' (LK Advani) has received the country's highest honour. Today I miss my mother the most because her contribution to his life, be it personal or political life is huge. When I told Dada, he was very happy and said that he spent his entire life in the service of his country. He thanked PM Modi and the people of the country for honouring him with such a big award," LK Advani's daughter said.
Jayant Advani, the son of veteran BJP leader LK Advani, stated that it is wonderful to see his efforts recognised in such a magnificent manner at this stage in his life.

"My family and I are overjoyed with the new development. I'd like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for presenting this award to my father. My father's contribution to public life has been enormous, and it is wonderful to see that at this stage in his life, his efforts are being recognised in this magnificent way," he said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani would be awarded the Bharat Ratna. He wrote, “I am very happy to share that Shri LK Advani Ji will be conferred the Bharat Ratna. I also spoke to him and congratulated him on being conferred this honour. One of the most respected statesmen of our times, his contribution to the development of India is monumental. His is a life that started from working at the grassroots to serving the nation as our Deputy Prime Minister. He distinguished himself as our Home Minister and I&B Minister as well. His Parliamentary interventions have always been exemplary, full of rich insights.”
The Bharat Ratna is India's highest civilian honour, bestowed for exceptional service or performance in any field of human endeavour. It is a prestigious award that honours the contributions of individuals who have made India proud through their accomplishments and excellence.
