Workers and several of their family members were at the location when the incident occurred at the factory in Ridhau village. The cause of the fire that resulted in the explosion is being probed, according to a Sonipat police officer.
"Three people died in the incident, including two women and one child. The police stated that nine injured people were rushed to PGIMS Hospital in Rohtak.
According to the police officer, the chemical used for making firecrackers in the "illegal unit" appeared to catch fire, resulting in an explosion.
