PTC News Desk: In a tragic turn of events, a husband's farewell turned tragic after his wife died in front of his eyes on the last day of his service. A government employee decide to take early retirement to take care of his ailing wife who was a heart patient.
The incident took place in Rajasthan's Kota.
The scene was filled with joy and smiles as both the husband and wife were garlanded, with rose petals adorning the table in front of them.
However, no one could have predicted that the happy occasion would soon turn tragic with the wife’s sudden death.
Devendra Sandal, the husband and manager at the Central Warehousing Corporation, had chosen to retire three years earlier than planned to care for his ailing wife, Tina, who had heart issues. While the celebration was underway, Tina told her husband, "Mujhe chakkar aa rahe hain" (I am feeling dizzy). He helped her sit back in her chair and massaged her back.
Though she wobbled unsteadily, she was encouraged to smile for the cameras, which she did before collapsing face-first onto the white table covered with rose petals. Devendra tried to support her, but she had already fallen, prompting cries of "Chakkar aa rahe hain, paani pilao" (I feel dizzy, give her water) from the crowd.
She was quickly rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. Tina had been unwell for some time, which led her husband to retire early to look after her.
