Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sánchez launched India's first private military manufacturing facility in Gujarat's Vadodra. Located at the Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) campus, the facility will be responsible for the production of Airbus C295 aircraft. Approximately 13,000 parts of the aircraft will be manufactured in India.


This milestone will give a major boost to India's aerospace industry, the manufacturing ecosystem and defence capabilities. C295 aircraft project is a game changer for following reasons:


1.Boost to India's Defence Sector

With inclusion of C295 aircraft into India Air Force and replacing the ageing fleet of the Soviet Antonov An-32 and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's Avro 748.marks a significant upgrade in the country's Defence infrsatructure.

C295 aircraft is a versatile transport capable of performing variety of missions making it suitable for diverse operational environment.
