FASTag new rules: Starting August 1, new FASTag regulations will come into effect, aimed at enhancing toll payment procedures and reducing congestion at toll booths.
As per the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), new FASTag regulations aim to improve both the efficiency and security of the system, affecting millions of FASTag users nationwide.

- FASTags issued between three and five years ago must undergo updated Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures.
- Any FASTags older than five years will need to be replaced entirely.
- From August 1, it will be mandatory for all FASTags to be linked to both the vehicle's registration number and chassis number.
- New vehicle owners are required to update their registration number within 90 days of acquiring the vehicle.
- FASTag providers are required to verify their databases.
- Clear photos of the vehicle’s front and side must be uploaded.
