Farmers' 'Delhi Chalo' March: Know which highways are shut and alternative routes to follow
Farmers' Delhi Chalo March: In preparation for the 'Delhi Chalo' march by farmers towards the capital, strict traffic measures and enhanced security protocols have been enforced at critical border areas like Singhu, Ghazipur, and Tikri. The aim is to prevent protester-laden vehicles from entering Delhi and to ensure the normal flow of traffic.
At the border regions, multiple layers of barricades have been erected, incorporating wires, nails, and substantial concrete blocks and containers strategically positioned at the entry points into Delhi.
Given these precautions, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued specific directives for commuters, especially concerning goods vehicles and those journeying from various border crossings.
Traffic Advisory Details:
1. Goods vehicles are prohibited from entering Delhi via the Greater Noida Expressway.
2. Goods vehicles are restricted from traveling between Haryana's Sirsa and Uttar Pradesh's Surajpur via Parichowk.
3. Route from Chilla border to Delhi: Take Sector 14A Flyover, Roundabout Chowk, Sector 15 via Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, Jhundapura Chowk.
4. Route from DND Border to Delhi: Use the elevated road via Sector 18 from Film City.
5. Route from Kalindi Kunj Border to Delhi: Take Sector 37 from Mahamaya Flyover.
6. Route using Yamuna Expressway to Delhi: Exit from Jewar Toll towards Khurja and proceed via Jahangirpur.
7. Route via Sirsa, Pari Chowk after Eastern Peripheral Expressway: Cannot exit at Sirsa; proceed via Dadri, Dasna.
8. 40 checkposts have been strategically set up in Sirsa, especially on routes from neighbouring states.
9. The road from Punjab's Bathinda has been temporarily sealed.
10. Traffic diversions are in place on several points of NH-9, passing through Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, to offer alternative routes.
