Eight-year-old girl dies of suspected cardiac arrest at school in Ahmedabad
As per reports, she appeared normal when she arrived at school but felt uneasy while walking to her class
PTC Web Desk: In a tragic incident, an eight-year-old Class 3 student, Gargi Ranpara, died at Zebar School for Children in the Thaltej area of Ahmedabad on Friday morning. The authorities suspect a cardiac arrest, and an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of her death, according to officials.
The incident occurred when Gargi was heading toward her classroom. "She appeared normal when she arrived at school but felt uneasy while walking to her class. She sat on a chair in the corridor and suddenly fell unconscious," said school principal Sharmishtha Sinha.
CCTV footage released by the school shows Gargi walking through the corridor, sitting down due to discomfort, and subsequently sliding off the chair as she lost consciousness. Teachers and students nearby witnessed the incident.
School staff immediately performed CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and called for an ambulance, but the child could not be revived.
This tragic event follows a similar incident earlier this week in Chamarajanagar, Karnataka, where another eight-year-old student collapsed and died, reportedly due to cardiac arrest.
