Delhi-Varanasi IndiGo flight receives bomb threat, search underway

An IndiGo flight bound for Varanasi received a bomb threat on Tuesday morning at Delhi's airport, prompting authorities to inspect the plane, according to officials.

PTC Web News: An IndiGo flight bound for Varanasi received a bomb threat on Tuesday morning at Delhi's airport, prompting authorities to inspect the plane, according to officials. The flight, 6E2211, was scheduled to depart from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport around 5 a.m. but was stopped on the runway minutes before takeoff.

A quick response team was dispatched right away, and no suspicious items have been found so far.

All passengers deboarded through the emergency door and are safe, according to officials. 

IndiGo also issued an official statement, stating that the aircraft was moved to a remote bay in accordance with airport security guidelines. "The flight is currently undergoing inspection. Post completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area," it said.
