Delhi school blast: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi blamed the BJP for an explosion outside the CRPF Public School in Rohini, claiming it was the Centre's duty to ensure law and order in the national capital. She claimed that the BJP focuses 90% of their energy to trouble the Delhi government.
"It is the BJP-led Centre's responsibility to maintain law and order. Police, land, law, and order are handled by the central government. The BJP focuses 90 per cent of their energy to trouble the Delhi government. Yesterday, 60 shots were fired in the Welcome area. Today, a small blast was reported in Rohini area," she said.
"I appeal to the BJP on behalf of Delhi that they should not intervene in our work, like education, health, roads etc. Rather, they should focus on safety and maintaining law and order," the CM added.
Delhi school blast
Earlier on Sunday, a loud explosion was reported near the CRPF School, with plumes of smoke seen billowing from the area around the building. The sound came from the school's wall, and the explosion smashed the windows of surrounding vehicles.
Several shops were near the school, and the loud sound could have been caused by a cylinder blast, according to sources. According to preliminary findings, no injuries were reported, and the police suspect the use of a low-intensity explosive.
A white powder-like substance was discovered near the school's wall after police blocked off the entire area.
The police have filed a FIR under the Explosives Act. CCTV footage from the region is being scanned to determine the order of events and the cause of the explosion.
