Delhi Rains: Delhi experienced its heaviest single-day rainfall for July in 14 years, with 108 mm recorded in the last 24 hours. Safdarjung, the city's main weather station, documented this heavy rain from Wednesday to Thursday, leading to nine fatalities, widespread road flooding, and major traffic disruptions.

In an unexpected turn of events during intense rainfall, residents of a luxurious apartment complex in Greater Noida West, Uttar Pradesh, were shocked when rainwater infiltrated their flat.

This incident activated a fire sprinkler, transforming it into a fountain and flooding the entire residence.

The relentless downpour caused chaos in the Pragati Maidan tunnel, while major intersections such as ITO, Dhaula Kuan, and airport roads were clogged with traffic.

Following heavy rain in Delhi on Wednesday evening, several buildings collapsed. A heartbreaking incident occurred in PS Ghazipur's area where 22-year-old Tanuja and her three-year-old son Priyansh tragically drowned in a waterlogged drain. Apart from this, a person lost his life when an old structure collapsed in Delhi's Subji Mandi area.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red alert for the region, forecasting more rain in the upcoming hours.
