Delhi Rains: Heavy rain lashes several parts of Delhi; residents deal with waterlogging and traffic snarls
IMD predicts a cloudy sky with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds at speeds of 25 to 35 kmph
Delhi Rains: On Saturday morning, Delhi experienced heavy rainfall, resulting in significant waterlogging and severe traffic congestion in various parts of the city. This weather event disrupted daily life for many residents and posed challenges for commuters.
The rain, however, brought further respite from the July heat.
Visuals from the Barapullah flyover showed vehicles navigating slowly through waterlogged roads, while Janpath experienced a light drizzle.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated rainfall in Delhi throughout Saturday, with cloudy skies and light thunderstorms expected in both Delhi and Noida over the weekend.
Light rain is predicted to continue in Delhi and Noida until July 17. As a result, water levels in the Yamuna River are anticipated to rise, prompting authorities to alert residents of Noida villages along the riverbank. These areas suffered significant flooding during last year's monsoon season, causing major inconvenience to residents of both Delhi and Noida.
In the national capital, the IMD predicts a cloudy sky with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds at speeds of 25 to 35 kmph. The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 36 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of about 28 degrees Celsius.
According to the regional weather center in New Delhi, the city will generally experience a cloudy sky with very light rain anticipated until July 17.
