Delhi assembly elections: Kejriwal announces free healthcare for 60 and above if voted to power

PTC News Desk: Ahead of the Delhi assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal has announced yet another poll bound promise. Delhi's former chief minister Kejriwal in a bid to woo voters, has announced the 'Sanjeevani' scheme to provide free healthcare for senior citizens in Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal announced on Wednesday that the scheme will come into effect after Arvind Kejriwal will come into power.
The Sanjeevani scheme will be applicable to all the citizens of national capital who are 60 years or above. Under the scheme, citizens will be able to avail healthcare from all the public and private hospitals of New Delhi.
"Today, for the people of Delhi, I am going to announce the 'Sanjeevani scheme'. Under this, all people above the age of 60 will get free healthcare. We will introduce and pass the scheme after the polls. Whether they (senior citizens) want to get treated at a public hospital or private hospital, the entire treatment will be free of cost," the AAP supremo said at an event at the party headquarters.
"There will be no BPL, APL, TPL or RPL. There will not be any upper limit. The Delhi government will bear the expenses of the full treatment. The registration will start in two to three days. But, you don't have to go anywhere to register. AAP volunteers will come to your home for registration and give you a health card," he added.
Aam Aadmi Party is eyeing third consecutive term in Delhi after its landslide victory in 2020 winning 62 out of 70 seats.
