PTC News Desk: Nearly 47 years after residing at 24 Akbar Road, Congress has now shifted the party headquarters 9A Kotla Road in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The new residence is all set to script history of the party as the national capital goes to the assembly polls on February 5. According to the party leaders, the headquarters spanned across over a two-acre plot will allowd media access restricted only to ground floor.
The same policy was implemented by rival party BJP long time back whose headquarters are not much farther from party's current residence.
The fifth floor of Indira Bhavan will house the offices of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and the leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
Meanwhile, the offices of general secretaries will be placed on fourth floor and state in-charges will occupy the third floor. The second floor will be used by all-India secretaries and their staff.
“All three offices will have large space, rooms for secretarial staff and a centralised air conditioning system,” a Congress functionary said.
