Change in Beating Retreat timings: ceremony will now begin at 5 pm

The timing of the retreat ceremony in Punjab has been changed. The ceremonies will now be held at 5 pm

PTC News Desk: The timing of the retreat ceremony in Punjab has been changed. The ceremonies will now be held at 5 pm at India Pakistan Attari Wagha border, Hussainiwala border of Ferozepur and Sadaki Sulaiman key border of Fazilka. In view of the changing weather, the timing of the flag hoisting ceremony has been revised.

Following the changes in the timings, Border Security Forces have appealed to all the visitors to reach by 04:00 pm. Not to mention, it is mandatory for the spectator watching the event to carry with themselves valid identification documents when attending the ceremony. The retreat ceremony timing  has been changed due to the onset of the winter season.

Tourists from every nook and corner of the country and abroad throng the borders to witness the retreat ceremony. The ceremony begins before the sunset which showcases the rivalry and cooperation between both the countries. It includes distinguished display of synchronised marching between the Border Security Force personnel and the Pakistani Rangers. The ceremony lasts for about 45 minutes during which the entire ambience is filled with utmost patriotism as crowds from both the sides chant national slogans creating an electrifying experience for the visitors. The ceremonial lowering of the flags is done with great precision, and the gates are then slammed shut as a sign of the end of the day's activity.
