CBSE rolls psychological counselling sessions for Class 10, 12 exams
New Delhi, January 1: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has initiated annual psychological counselling sessions for the 2024 batch of Class 10 and 12 students, commencing Monday, January 1. In a bid to assist students preparing for their impending final exams, the CBSE is launching an array of support services, including Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), podcasts, and tele-counseling facilities.
A toll-free IVRS service, available at 1800-11-8004, will provide 24x7 assistance to both students and parents. Offering guidance in Hindi and English, the IVRS system will cover stress-free preparation strategies, time management tips, stress alleviation techniques, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and pertinent contact details of CBSE offices.
Additionally, bilingual podcasts across various subjects will be accessible on cbse.gov.in. The tele-counseling services, operational from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm every Monday to Saturday, aim to offer personalised support.

In a press statement, the CBSE said the involvement of a total of 65 proficient individuals, including principals, trained counsellors, special educators from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools, and psychologists. Among these professionals, 52 are based in India, while 13 counselors are from international locations such as Kuwait, Nepal, Japan, Doha-Qatar, Oman (Muscat), and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras-al-Khaimah).
The upcoming final theory examinations for CBSE Class 10 and 12 are scheduled to commence on February 15. Meanwhile, schools have been given the authority to conduct practical exams starting January 1. Date sheets, sample papers, question banks, and other essential resources are available for download on the board's official websites.
The CBSE's endeavour to provide comprehensive support services aims to ensure students are equipped with the necessary tools and guidance for a successful examination period.
