Bomb threats target five private schools; parents rush to pick up kids

PTC Web Desk: Panic ensued as bomb threats targetted five private schools across Chennai city, including areas like Anna Nagar, JJ Nagar, Parrys Corner, Gopalapuram, and Mylapore on Thursday.

The police swiftly responded, urging the public not to panic as they initiated necessary actions. A screenshot of a school's message to parents circulated on social media, disclosing the potential threat and detailing precautionary measures. In response, students were dispersed early, with the police conducting searches on the premises.

The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) were deployed to ensure safety, and the authorities are actively working to identify the source of the threats. Parents rushed to pick up their children, with some schools accommodating students on the grounds during the police searches. The situation is ongoing, with completed searches in some schools revealing no bombs so far, while searches continue in others.
