Bomb scare on Air India flight from New Delhi to Visakhapatnam
Bomb threat was initially received by the Delhi Police, which promptly alerted both the airline and the Visakhapatnam airport
PTC Web Desk: An Air India flight from New Delhi to Visakhapatnam faced a bomb threat late Tuesday evening, but the alert turned out to be a hoax after thorough checks were conducted upon its landing in the port city, according to an official statement.
Visakhapatnam Airport director S Raja Reddy reported that the bomb threat was initially received by the Delhi Police, which promptly alerted both the airline and the Visakhapatnam airport. "The flight landed safely, and after a comprehensive inspection, the threat was confirmed to be a false alarm," Reddy said. The aircraft was carrying 107 passengers at the time.
Following the deboarding of passengers and a thorough search of the plane, no suspicious items were found.
