PTC News Desk: Political slugfest in the national capital has snowballed ahead of Delhi assembly elections. BJP candidate from the New Delhi seat, Parvesh Verma, on Tuesday accused AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, of misusing the official machinery of the AAP-ruled Punjab in the constituency.
Verma who is contesting against AAP supremo from New Delhi seat has alleged influx of vehicles from Punjab and said that all the ministers and MLAs from Punjab have come only for the New Delhi constituency and the infrastructure in Punjab has come to standstill.
"Punjab CM, all the ministers and MLAs of Punjab have come here only for the New Delhi constituency. Thousands of vehicles having Punjab numbers are moving here - who are there in those vehicles? Republic Day preparations are going on, what big thing those people are going to do that may compromise our security?" he said.
He also claimed that Chinese CCTV cameras are being installed by AAP members in the slums of New Delhi. “The entire AAP government of Punjab, the Chief Minister, ministers and all the MLAs are camping in Delhi. No work is being done in Punjab, the election code of conduct is being violated in New Delhi. The work that Arvind Kejriwal could not do in New Delhi and is now losing, is being quietly done by contractors from Punjab,” the BJP leader posted on X.
Aam Aadmi Party sharply rejected the climas and sough an apology from BJP leader and Amit Shah for their remarks.
Meanwhile Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann held a rally in support of AAP candidates in the national capital. "The kind of love and affection that we are getting from the people, I don't think that I need to say much. In Punjab, we have fulfilled our promises, even those promises we didn't make," he said.
Delhi is slated to got for polls on Febraury 5 and results will be announced on February 8.
