Bhagat Singh Birth Anniversary: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to revolutionary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary. Taking to X, PM Modi said Bhagat Singh sacrificed his life to protect the self-respect of the motherland.

Born on September 28, 1907, in Punjab's Banga into a Sikh family, Bhagat Singh was inherently patriotic. His birth anniversary is celebrated with great enthusiasm across the nation.

Brimming with fiery patriotism and a profound yearning for freedom, Bhagat Singh dedicated his life to combat British colonial rule. Remarkably, at the tender age of 23, he was sentenced to death by the British government in the Lahore conspiracy case on March 23, 1931.

Bhagat Singh was a staunch supporter of socialism, envisioning a world with a fair distribution of wealth and resources. He was also drawn to anarchist and Marxist ideals, which echoed his varied personality.
