Bank holidays in May: Banks in India will remain closed for up to 11 days in the coming month of May. In April, banks remain closed for up to 15 days on occasions like Good Friday, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Id-Ul-Fitr, etc.
Banks are open on the first and third Saturdays of each month but are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays.
Many festivals, including May Day, Buddha Purnima, Maharana Pratap Jayanti, and Rabindranath Tagore's birth anniversary, will be observed as bank holidays in May.
While bank branches will be closed on these dates, mobile and internet banking will be available as usual. Customers can complete transactions online.
Moreover, the bank holiday in each state will depend upon the list of holidays released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on its official website.

Banks to remain closed in Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, and Srinagar
May 9: Birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore

May 16: Sikkim Day
Banks will not open in Sikkim
May 22: Maharana Pratap Jayanti
