PTC News Desk: Former chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has announced Rs 2,100 per month for Delhi women. Aam Aadmi Party's convener has announced that Rs 2,100 will be deposited in the accounts of every woman above the age of 18 years in the national capital if the ruling party comes to power. The Aam Aadmi Party is eyeing third consecutive term after the 2025 assembly polls.
Arvind Kejriwal further said that the registration for the process will be be commencing from December 13. However, despite the commencement of the registeration process, the amount will not be deposited immediately as the dates for the elections will be announced in upcoming 10 to 15 days.
"I had previously promised to give Rs 1,000 to every woman. But some women came to me and said that Rs 1,000 would not be sufficient due to inflation. Hence, Rs 2,100 will be deposited into the accounts of all women," he said at the Mahila Samman Yojana event accompanied by Chief Minister Atishi.
"This proposal was passed in the cabinet meeting chaired by Atishi this morning, following which the scheme has been implemented," he further said.
Earlier in March this year, the Aam Aadmi Party had announced that Rs 1,000 to all the women above the age of 18 years under the Mukhyamantri Samman Yojna. Taking a dig at BJP, Kejriwal said that the scheme was announced in March with the hope of its implementation by May.
"But they conspired and sent me to jail based on a fraud case. Since my return from jail, I have worked to implement this scheme with Atishi," Kejriwal said, referring to his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in March in connection to the Delhi liquor policy case.
