A 16-year-old kid has been detained for reportedly putting a fencing pillar on the Banda-Mahoba rail track on Saturday.

Sabotage attempt: A 16-year-old kid has been detained for reportedly putting a fencing pillar on the Banda-Mahoba rail track on Saturday.

According to police, the driver of the passenger train had to use emergency brakes to stop after noticing a concrete pillar on the tracks. 

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, when the driver of a passenger train reported the blockage on the track to the Railway Protection Force and police, according to reports.

"A police team, along with the RPF, arrived at the scene and detained the teenager." Deepak Dubey, the area's Circle Officer (CO), stated the child confessed to placing the pillar on the tracks.

The officer reported that rail traffic on the route was unblocked shortly after the pillar was removed from the track.
