Agniveers death news: Two Agniveers killed as field gun shell explodes during firing practice in Nashik

PTC Web Desk: Two Agniveers were killed when a shell from an Indian field gun exploded during a training exercise at the Artillery Centre in Nashik district, Maharashtra, the police said on Friday. The incident took place on Thursday afternoon at the Artillery Centre in the Nashik Road area, according to an official.

The deceased have been identified as Gohil Vishwaraj Singh (20) and Saifat Shit (21). The mishap occurred when a team of Agniveers was conducting firing practice with an Indian field gun, and one of the shells detonated unexpectedly. Both soldiers suffered critical injuries and were rushed to MH Hospital, Deolali, where they were declared dead, the official stated.

Following a complaint by Havildar Ajit Kumar, the Deolali Camp police have registered a case of accidental death, and an investigation is underway.
