PTC News Desk: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) officials have began tearing down the N-Convention Centre, a huge complex owned by popular actor Nagarjuna.

The N-Convention Centre, which sits on a 10-acre area, has been under fire for years. The destruction comes after claims of illegal construction within the Full Tank Level (FTL) area and buffer zone of the Thammidikunta Lake in the Madhapur area of the city.

According to official records provided by the North Tank Division's executive engineer, Thammidikunta Lake has an FTL area of roughly 29.24 acres. It is claimed that N-Convention encroached on approximately 1.12 acres of the FTL area and another 2 acres within the buffer.

For years, N-Convention's management has been accused of leveraging their power to evade regulatory actions from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and other higher authorities, so avoiding the consequences of their encroachments.

The demolition drive began early Saturday morning, with HYDRA officials coming on-site, escorted by a number of police to ensure the process ran smoothly.
