Acropolis Mall fire: Fire at Kolkata's Acropolis Mall contained, no casualties reported
The fire department in Kolkata dispatched at least fifteen fire tenders in response to a large fire that broke out at the Acropolis Mall, which houses multiple workplaces.
PTC News Desk: Authorities were forced to evacuate the building on Friday when a large fire broke out on the third level of a retail mall in Kolkata's southern region, according to an official.
There were no confirmed injuries in the incident.
The fire service sent at least 15 fire tenders to the Acropolis Mall in Kolkata as soon as they received a warning about the incident, and they were able to contain it. "At present, there is no information available regarding the fire," DCP Jadavpur Division Bidisha Kalita stated in an interview with news agency ANI.
Officials from the fire department also cleared out individuals from inside the mall offices. Fire department authorities stated that they are still unsure of the fire's precise origin. After the fire started, numerous footage showed people running out of the mall.
Since Tuesday, there have been two instances of this kind in the city.
A large fire also started at a restaurant in Kolkata's Park Street neighbourhood earlier on Tuesday. To put out the fire, numerous fire fighters arrived at the scene. The crowded market was in disarray due to the fire incident. Still, the situation was under the authority of local police and fire brigade personnel.
