PTC News Desk: A heated exchange broke out between Aam Aadmi Party leaders and Delhi police on Wednesday after police barred AAP MP Sanjay Singh and Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj from entering the Chief Minister's residence.

The AAP leaders had planned a media tour of the chief minister's residence to counter the BJP's allegations of turning the bungalow into a "Sheesh Mahal" during Arvind Kejriwal's tenure.

Following the scuffle with Delhi police, AAP leaders staged a dharna outside 6 Flag Staff Road bungalow after being denied entry. The police had sought permission from the leaders to enter chief minister's residence while Bhardawaj countered the allegations as to why a Minister and MP needed permission to enter the Chief Minister's residence.

Large number of police officials were deployed and barricades were installed to block the leaders from entering CM residence. Water canons were used to disperse the protesting leaders.

"The police and PWD officials are saying that there is order from the top to not allow anyone inside the CM residence. I told them that I am the minister... this means that there is an order from the LG," Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said, adding, "BJP will be happy with the police action".

BJP has accused Arvind Kejriwal of turning CM residence into a 'sheesh mahal' with exorbitant amount of expenses spent on the renovation of the residence with taxpayer's money. To counter the allegations of BJP, AAP leaders had planned a medica tour of the residence. On the other hand, the party is countering with the "Raj Mahal" jibe, accusing the Prime Minister of leading a luxurious lifestyle.
