9 Maoists killed in encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh, automatic weapons recovered

Nine naxals were killed during an encounter operation in the forest at the Dantewada-Bijapur border in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday. According to police, automatic weapons were recovered from the Naxals.

PTC News Desk: Nine naxals were killed during an encounter operation in the forest at the Dantewada-Bijapur border in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday. According to police, automatic weapons were recovered from the Naxals.

According to Dantewada SP Gaurav Rai, "A large number of SLR rifles,.303 rifles, and.315 bore rifles were recovered from the Naxals. All security personnel involved in the operation are safe. Search operations are ongoing in the area. After the operation is complete, a detailed report will be released."

Earlier today, a joint police force conducted a search operation after getting information regarding the presence of Maoists from the West Bastar Division near the border between Dantewada and Bijapur districts. The altercation between police and Naxals began around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, on August 29, three women Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security troops in the forests of Abujhmad, Narayanpur. They were the members of the North Bastar Division Committee and PLGA Company No. 5.
