7 killed, 5 injured in car accident on Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway

At least seven people were killed and five injured after a deadly collision between two cars on the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway Friday night near the Kadwanchi village in Jalna district.

Car Accident: At least seven people were killed and five injured after a deadly collision between two cars on the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway Friday night near the Kadwanchi village in Jalna district.

The accident occurred about 11 p.m. when a Swift Dzire entered the highway from the wrong side after refuelling and collided with an Ertiga heading to Mumbai from Nagpur.

The impact was so powerful that the Ertiga flew into the air and landed on the highway's barricade, sending people inside falling out of the vehicle and onto the road. 

Six died on the spot. The images showed their bloodied bodies lying on the highway.

As soon as the Samruddhi Highway Police and Jalna Police received information about the accident, they rushed to the scene. A crane was used to remove the cars. The injured people have been taken to the district hospital for treatment.
