6 killed, 20 injured as bus rams into truck in Madhya Pradesh

A bus and a truck collided in the Maihar area of Madhya Pradesh, killing at least six people and injuring almost 20 others, according to police.

PTC News Desk: A bus and a truck collided in the Maihar area of Madhya Pradesh, killing at least six people and injuring almost 20 others, according to police.

The accident occurred near the Nadan Dehat police station, around 25 kilometres from the district headquarters.

According to authorities, the bus travelling from Prayagraj to Nagpur collided with a stone-laden dumper truck parked on the roadside at about 11 p.m. on Saturday.

Sudhir Agrawal, Superintendent of Police in Maihar, said that six of the injured were in severe condition and were sent to Satna for further treatment. He further stated that the remaining injured people are being treated in hospitals in Maihar and Amarpatan.

Agrawal stated that senior officials arrived at the scene shortly after receiving information about the accident and initiated the rescue effort. Further information is awaited.
