3 women among 5 beaten to death on suspicion of practising witchcraft in Chhattisgarh

Five people, including two couples and a woman, were allegedly beaten to death on suspicion of witchcraft in a village in Chhattisgarh's tribal-dominated Sukma district on Sunday.

PTC News Desk: Five people, including two couples and a woman, were allegedly beaten to death on suspicion of witchcraft in a village in Chhattisgarh's tribal-dominated Sukma district on Sunday.

Five people, all from the same village, have been detained and interrogated in connection with the murder, according to officials.

According to a police officer, the victims were Mausam Kanna (34), his wife Mausam Biri, Mausam Buchcha (34), his wife Mausam Arjo (32), and another woman Karka Lachhi (43). The incident occurred in Ektal village.

After being informed, senior officials rushed to the scene.

The detained accused have been identified as Savlam Rajesh (21), Savlam Hidma, Karam Satyam (35), Kunjam Mukesh (28) and Podiam Enka. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
