Panchkula, September 2: A major fire broke out at Panchkula Sector 9 wherein more than 100 shops were gutted. There has been a loss of crores of rupees to the shopkeepers. More than 10 fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and the fire was brought under control after hard effort of about five hours. Also Read: Punjab VB raid on Manpreet Singh Issewal’s residence Meanwhile, Panchkula MLA and Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gyanchand Gupta issued a video statement and expressed deep grief over this accident and assured assistance to the victims on behalf of the government. The cause of fire is still unknown. In a meantime, fire brigade vehicles arrived from many adjoining areas such as Panchkula, Dera Bassi, Chandigarh, Kalka, Pinjore, etc. Top officers of Panchkula police and district administration officials also reached the spot.
