Punjab Revenue Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa and Health Minister Dr Vijay Singla were also present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering before distributing the appointment letters, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said, “The biggest threat ever faced by Punjab is unemployment. It is the root cause of many other problems in the state. Students have degrees, but no jobs. Previous governments failed to make recruitment against vacant posts. However, the AAP govt is committed to fulfilling its promise of resolving the issue of unemployment in the state.” ‘I’m happy that our goal to fill 26,424 posts in Punjab is beginning with all of you. You are now the government’s family; keep giving your suggestions to make things better. Come forward and make the best use of this opportunity to rejuvenate Punjab.” Assuring candidates about their job location, the Punjab CM said, “We will try our best to give you preferred location that is near to your residence. Efforts will be made to do allotment in such a way that you work within the radius of your residence so that you can concentrate better. But always remember, be it Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Manmohan Singh or Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, people who create history don’t usually confine themselves to their ancestral properties. So don’t be afraid to step out, especially do not run behind MLAs and ministers for your transfers. Great services for a nation demand such sacrifices. Put your best foot forward to make Punjab mighty and great again.” Referring to a protest by some jobless candidates outside his residence recently, Bhagwant Mann said, “I would also like to assure agitating candidates that everyone will get appointment letters. Just give us some time and we will fulfill each and every promise made by us.” Also Read| JP’s Tajinder Bagga gets HC relief; arrest stayed till July 5 -PTC News
