Lakhimpur Kheri violence: In an order to protest against the Lakhimpur Kheri incident in which four farmers were allegedly killed by the Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra's son Ashish Mishra, the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha has called 'rail roko' agitation on October 18. Farmer leader Yogendra Yadav said that "Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has called 'rail roko' on Oct 18 to protest Lakhimpur Kheri violence." While addressing a press conference, farmer leader Darshan Pal said that the "Lakhimpur Kheri incident was part of a pre-planned conspiracy. They (attackers) tried to terrorise farmers." "Govt has adopted a violent approach against protesting farmers. We won't take the path of violence," said farmer leader Joginder Singh Ugrahan. "We demand Union Minister Ajay Mishra and his son Ashish be arrested," said Ugrahan.
