In an official announcement, the CBSE confirmed that the practical examinations for the 2025 board exams will begin on January 1. These exams are mandatory for all Class 10 and 12 students.
Practical exams for schools in winter-bound regions will take place early, from November 5 to December 5, 2024. CBSE also released detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions for the winter-bound schools, which would close in January 2025.
The board has also released subject-specific mark distribution details for classes 10 and 12. Schools are advised to check this information to guarantee accuracy before uploading practical marks, as errors cannot be corrected later.
According to an official notice, “The Practical Examinations/ IA for class X and XII and the Board’s Annual Theory Examinations are scheduled to start w.e.f. 01/01/2025 and 15/02/2025 respectively.”
Each subject in both classes will carry a total of 100 marks, split between theory tests, practical exams, project work, and internal assessments.
