Jawaharpur reports 2 new cases; Mohali count 53

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Mohali has reached 53 after 2 new cases have been reported from Jawaharpur village in Derabassi on Sunday. According to the information, an 80-year-old and 55-year-old females have tested positive for coronavirus. Meanwhile, the Jawaharpur tally has increased to 36 while the total number of coronavirus cases in Mohali stands at 53. The district has reported the highest number of coronavirus cases in the state. Likewise, Mohali reported a new case on Saturday night. DC Mohali Girish Dayalan took to Twitter and wrote: "Husband of the 78-year-old female co-morbid patient from Mundi Kharar, who died on April 7, and posthumously tested positive, also tested positive. The rest of all the samples were negative." 34 deaths and 909 new cases reported in last 24 hours in India Earlier on Saturday, two new cases were reported from the Jawharpur only. The cases have been continuously rising in the village. On Friday, a 6-month-old child among the 10 people, tested positive for coronavirus in Jawharpur. The toddler is the youngest victim of coronavirus in the district, probably in the state as well. Kovid-19 patients from 3 districts to be treated at Medical College, Shahbad Recently, Girish Dayalan had stated that extensive sampling has enabled the officials to identify more positive cases within the village and timely isolate them. He added that containing without extensive sampling would not have achieved the desired/same results.
