Sukhbir Badal condoles passing away of eminent Punjabi writer Jaswant Singh Kanwal

Jaswant Singh Kanwal Death: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday condoled the passing away of eminent Punjabi writer, novelist and Sahitya Akademi awardee Jaswant Singh Kanwal following a brief illness.

In a statement here, the SAD President said the passing away of the veteran writer who had written extensively on the socio economic problems faced by the common man had left a void in Punjabi literature which would be difficult to fill. “Mr Kanwal’s extensive collection of 80 books will serve as an inspiration for us always”, he added.

"Saddened to learn about the demise of eminent Punjabi writer, novelist and Sahitya Akademi awardee Jaswant Singh Kanwal ji. Badal also expressed his condolences with the bereaved family and prayed to the almighty to give it the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
