ISIS active member Mohsin Ahmad sent to one-month judicial custody
New Delhi [India], August 16: A Special Investigation Agency (NIA) Court sent active member of ISIS Mohsin Ahmad to one-month Judicial Custody. Meanwhile, he was arrested on August 6, 2022 ahead of Independence Day. He was sent to 30-day custody as NIA didn’t seek further remand from him. As per the sources, he has been arrested for his involvement in the collection of funds from sympathisers in India as well as abroad and sending it to Syria and other places in form of cryptocurrency. He has been arrested by NIA during a search operation conducted at his residence. As per the NIA, he was arrested in a case pertaining to online and on-ground activities of ISIS. The case was registered suo-moto by the NIA on June 25. NIA also stated that, "Ahmad is a radicalised and active member of ISIS. He has been arrested for his involvement in the collection of funds for ISIS from sympathisers in India as well as abroad."
