IPL 2021: Major setback for Delhi Capitals as Axar Patel tests positive for COVID-19

With seven days to go for the IPL 2021, Delhi Capitals has suffered a huge setback as an all-rounder Axar Patel has tested positive for COVID-19. Delhi Capitals will kick-off IPL 2021 campaign against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium. He is under isolation while all protocols were being followed, the source added. Fortunately, Nitish Rana tested negative for COVID-19 on Thursday. He had tested positive on March 22. Rana had self-isolated himself after the positive result. He underwent a COVID-19 test again on Thursday after which he turned negative. According to the BCCI SOP, a player who tests positive for COVID-19 must isolate outside the bio-secure environment for a minimum of 10 days from the date of collection of the sample which resulted positive. During the isolation, the player has to rest and avoid any exercises while the team of doctor would regularly monitor the case.
