Indian Railways to resume 50 special train services from June 21

In a major development, the Indian Railways is set to resume operations of 50 special trains including the New Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi Express, which were halted due to the coronavirus pandemic. The operations of these special trains would resume from June 21 as the coronavirus situation in India has started to improve, There has been a surge in passengers' demand for train services. IRCTC: Shatabdi Express may start in first week of October From 800 mail/express trains which were in operation daily in the first week of June, the passenger services have been raised to 983 mail/express trains as on Friday. The special trains which would resume operations from June 21 include the New Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi Express, New Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express, New Delhi-Amritsar Junction Shatabdi Express, Delhi Junction-Kotdwara Shatabdi Express, Chandigarh-New Delhi Shatabdi Express, and Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Jammu Tawi Duronto. Likewise, Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Sri Shakti, Kalka-Shimla Express, Bilaspur Junction-New Delhi Express, Jammu Tawi-Yognagari Rishikesh Express, Lucknow-Prayagraj Sangam Express, Chhapra-Lucknow Junction Express, and Farrukhabad-Chhapra Express would also resume.
