New Delhi, July 22: India reported a single-day increase of 21,880 Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally of coronavirus cases to 4,38,47,065. The active cases have increased to 1,49,482, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday. With 60 new Covid fatalities, the death toll has reached 5,25,930. The active cases comprise 0.34 per cent of the total infections, while the national recovery rate is 98.46 per cent. An increase of 601 cases has been recorded in the active caseload in the last 24 hours. Also Read | Blinken praises India for supporting US with medical supplies during Covid outbreak The daily positivity rate of Covid 19 was recorded at 4.42 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 4.51 per cent, according to the health ministry. The number of people who have recovered from the disease has reached 4,31,71,653 and the case fatality rate is 1.2 per cent. According to the ministry, 201.3 crore doses of coronavirus vaccine have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. The nationwide Covid-19 vaccination started on January 16, 2021. The new phase of universalisation of coronavirus vaccination commenced on June 21 2021. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through the availability of more vaccines, and advanced visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.
